Sequins were undeniable in S16. There was a disco undercurrent that I couldn't ignore - this nail represented that high shine chrome that made its way into almost every collection.
During every fashion week we see inspiration from countless decades but the influence of the 80's came through in pattern and color. We saw peach leather shoulder pad heavy tops at Fendi, peach and chrome pieces at Jeremy Scott and Timo Weiland. This peach and chrome combination is a nod to early 80's fashion.
There were high shine chrome nails at Chanel to match bright silver accessories, golden eyes at Prabal Gurung, Altazzura and Alica + Olivia and golden lips at Prada. Chrome was abundant in fabrics, sequins, broken mirror mosaics, nails, and in makeup.
