How to wax

When waxing, be sure to apply the wax in the same direction as the hair grows.

How to apply

1

Before waxing, take a shower or bath, or lay a warm washcloth on the area to be waxed for a few minutes, but make sure area is dry and oil free before commencing. Sally Hansen also offers a variety of Extra Strength Wax Hair Removers for coarse, hard-to-remove hair.

2

Try our NEW Sally Hansen's Ouch-Relief Numbing Wipes pre-wax kit 10 minutes before waxing. Pain-Relief technology in the wipes help reduce and alleviate pain while waxing. It's easy to use and prepares your skin before waxing. Avoid taking aspirin as it may result in bruising.

3

Ideally, hair should be about 1/4 inch long before waxing. This is approximately three weeks growth, depending on the area. If hair is longer, trim before waxing.

4

If you have oily skin, dust the area to be waxed lightly with powder before waxing. It helps absorb excess oil on the skin.

5

When waxing, be sure to apply the wax in the same direction as the hair grows. Apply the strip over it, and give it two smooth, firm strokes. This makes sure the wax is adhered to the strip. When removing, pull the strip off in the opposite direction in which you applied it. Hold skin taut and pull the strip off quickly and as close to the skin as possible.

6

You can use either our Azulene finishing oil, baby oil or mineral oil. For stripless waxes, use a little ball of leftover wax to remove the excess. It sticks to itself!
